They were both members of The Ipswich Art Society in the 1980s and 90s. My father ,Tony Foley , was secretary for a while.they greatly admired each other’s work.
Dad was a trade unionist who painted, the social realism of Colin’s work had great appeal for my dad who spent his working life in Ipswich dedicated to improving the conditions of the workers Colin painted.
