Still Life, as with any genre, can only be judged on what it evokes. Whilst Hirst may have struggled technically, I think Colin&#039;s rejection of &#039;hyper realism&#039; shows that draughtsmanship alone isn&#039;t the key. As others have noted, Colin&#039;s use of colour to jolt the viewer&#039;s senses sets him apart. As for still life, is there a single great artist who hasn&#039;t ventured here?]]></description>

So lovely to see some more of Colin&#039;s paintings. I love &#039;A pot plant&#039; and &#039;Fruit on a Spsnish plate&#039; with their vibrant colours. Less &#039;still life&#039; - more &#039;bursting with life&#039;! Interesting exploration of Moss&#039;s works, in relation to some other great artists. Thank you.]]></description>
